IDEOLOGY OF HATE EP FINISHED

Journal Entry: Sun Apr 23, 2006, 4:17 PM
For those of you who dont know, ive been spending most of my creative time on my music projects. Luckily alot of this currently intertwines with my university contextual shit, so i'm full steam ahead.

Ive just released a 4 track EP on Ivena records, and independant label that myself and several other artists own, with an aim to collectivly push our creative endeavers forward both individually, and as A team. I love it when a plan comes together.

Gone is the shitty names 'Funkhole Lighthouse', and ON3 INF3CT3D is reserved pruely for my art based project. The material I write is under the name 'BIG GOD SMALL' which makes more sense if you realise theres nothing more important than the little things.

Other artists on Intravena, or IVENA include one Deprived Anxiety, who has worked with me many times in collaboration on several digital photography projects. A keen rapper and some kind of fucking shakespear, DA is pushing his new musical outlet 'Hookaduck' and has recently released his debut EP for IVena.

Second half of the Hookaduck talent is Slack Happenings. Slack was 'signed' for both his creative visual style, which melts like a dali clock into his music, which incorporates everything from sampled guitars, to chairs being thrown around the room. The Mr Todd EP is now available.

We feel this is a great way to make music, each and every artist pushing the other forward. Mutually working towards goals, to improve our own music, and to get like minded people to hear it. Bottomline is we're doing what we enjoy doing.

You can listen to selected tracks from the artists on Ivena at

[link]

alternativly you can visit the artists pages to listen to the lastest material. All links are clearly listed on the page...

My side project with DA can be listened to in its early stages at

[link]

And i would be very appreciative to people who take the time out to listen to my shit on

[link]

If you like what you hear, the EP is ready and i'm dishing a limited amount of copies for free. So snap those bastards up.

Other than that, sorry i haven't been about for awhile. Been busy busy busy. I'll be uploading some more artwork very soon.

Peace and Love

Greg

Yo, havent actually got much portfolio work done yet!! Got an interview on the 15th, gonna seriously get my ass into gear and roll off loads of t's, illustrations, photogrpahy.

Hows your final major project going? Havent heard from you in along time, i need to collaborate to help me with my 'Looking Through' project. I'm curently 'Looking Through' the perfect body, why we want this lifestyle and image, the extremities people go to, what fucking deluded freaks society is made up of, and making a composit model. Like frankenstein. So perfect she's repulsive.

Superhuman.

lol ive just had 48484 ideas in the last 3 seconds.

Still would like your opinion. The photos with th elines on their faces are too obvious and rubbish, but it shut them up.

well i'll see how it goes. while im in college im not even looking for a job, i just want money. DJ shadow albums dont buy themselves you know!! i have one more year to go, and slowly but surely i keep upping the game. im 21 now, by the time im 25 i should be able to score a job somewhere. just gotta put together a good portfolio. im yet to make anything that id put in there. but baby steps man. i'll get there. it can have my godamn life. My names Greg by the way. nice talking to you graphics guy.
~JesterDiablo:iconJesterDiablo: Mar 23, 2005, 8:47:45 AM
Works ok man. I know how hard it is to get a job in the field of graphics, and i know im a lucky bugger, but although im in the field - i aint growing my own crops know wot im sayin.

Im the same as you though dude. Would like to be doing the sort of stuff i want to do (hence the reason i just doodle and fuck about with pens, pencils and a computer). I spent a long time procrastinating about stuff, but got an injection of creativity and enthusiasm early this year with some of the work ive done for my favourite band (colour me a fanboy mofo) and my creative streak just kept on growing from there. Even the stuff I do thats just for me, if i can look at it in my portfolio and think 'fuck yeah!' im happy.

So just keep it up man. The more you do the better you get. The less you try the more you forget.

And at the end of the day youre work is pretty damn cool. Period.

Why dont you try doing a couple of pieces, framing em and selling them on ebay? Ive heard from a friend that thats a pretty good way to make cash moolah. And it gets the word out. Im planning to do it when I can.
~Comacouch:iconComacouch: Mar 23, 2005, 8:12:40 AM
Well i work with whatever i can to be honest. I'm not really all that technical, its got its ups and downs. If im at college, i'm in the studio and i work big, using anything from acrylic paint to spraypaint. Ive been buzzing off the whole street art thing. Been making stickers, and just getting work out and about. Little characters to just make people smile or frown. I do alot of doodling, sketches of charcters and what not. Digital Photography when the mood takes me, and youve seen a little of my graphic design. I'm doing a BA in Fine Art. next year i'll be at Bournville. Its negotiated study, because although I work in a very graphic based manner, letterheads and businesscards and such really isn't for me. Id love to be able to tie my work in with my interests, but its so difficult, im trying so hard to grit my teeth and keep my work out of the bin, ya know what i mean? I dont really know where im headed, but i know this is what i want to be doing. Like you, id love to get a job working graphic design, and continue with my own street art/freelance stuff outside. Set up a little studio, a proper website. Thats the ideal, but i need money, and college makes you poor. Im not even sure wether to take a year out and get some money behind me before i finish the degree, but theres no way id get a job in the field. Hows work going for you?
